What entities should I expect to find?
You can always enjoy the game by going in blind, but I know some of you out there like to be ready when starting a new game or maybe you’re having a hard time beating the levels. First let’s talk about every entity in the game and how to defeat them.
- The Bacteria – You can find this entity in the first level in areas where the lights have turned orange. If you walk past it, it will chase you while giving off a loud screech. You can outrun this entity by sprinting and hiding in a locker. If you must cross an area with dark orange lighting always check the corners, you might see it waiting for you and then you can avoid it.
- The Smiler – This entity can be found in the darkness, if you see it from a distance simply turn around and walk behind a wall or a door, and make sure to take anti-anxiety pills. To beat this entity just avoid eye contact, your flashlight will flicker if there’s one nearby, in this case turn your flashlight off immediately.
- The Hound – This entity can be found in vents. You know it’s coming if you hear it crawl out of the vents, in this case make sure you run the opposite direction and into a locker. This entity can be intimidated by eye contact but it’s risky you should only do this when you have no other option. When you hear the creature go back into the vents you can use a screwdriver to seal them out.
- The Skin Stealer – This entity is drawn to blood, so make sure to patch yourself up when you get hurt. You can hear this creature by its distinct moist slap footsteps.
- The Party Goer – This entity is easy to avoid. When playing in the office rooms this creature will only appear if you fail its game. If you happen to fail the game, you can try to lose it in the maze, but it will likely get you.
- The Clump – You can find this entity in areas that contain water like the pool zone or the sewer rooms. In the pool zone you can use the motion tracker to detect it and avoid it. They cannot leave the water and they cannot see you so just don’t make contact with them, and you will be fine.
- The Death Rat – This entity roams the sewage in the Sewer rooms. They have no vision but super-creature hearing. Make sure you don’t make a noise and they will walk past you. If you happen to move ditch into the closest room to try and escape it.
What tips should I keep in mind?
Tip #1 Stamina is very important in this game. It can make all the difference when you’re face to face with an entity. Stamina in this game can go down very quickly meaning you should never run around randomly just because your character is too slow. Instead, you should use it sparingly and only when an entity appears.
Tip #2 When despite your best effort you find yourself “on the other side” you have to find a magical door of light to be brought back to life. The location of this door changes every time you die but you can easily find it by following the heartbeat sound. It’s simple the louder it gets the closer you are.
Tip #3 Never ever lose your flashlight. It’s a valued asset and it doesn’t respawn.
Tip #4 The puzzles in the game aren’t always the same! So, if you close the game or use up all your lives you can’t just speed run through the levels.
Tip #5 Make sure you save up your lives for the Partygoers backroom. This room is a hard one and you will probably end up wasting a lot of lives on it.
Tip #6 Spare your resources! When your insanity get’s too high your screen gets blurry, impairing vision and movement significantly. You will also need almond milk to replenish your health. Thus, stock up on those anti-anxiety pills and almond milk.
Tip #7 If you’re playing with friends don’t let them out of your sight. It’s surprisingly easy to get separated and it can be really confusing to find your way around the maze.
Tip #8 Keep an ear out for unusual noises. A lot of the entities make specific noises giving you time to run away if you’re paying attention.
Tip #9 Explore the areas around the puzzle thoroughly. The solution to the puzzles isn’t usually fair away.
Tip #10 Meticulously read all the notes you find. They can give you vital information that will help keep you alive.
Tip #11 For our final tip it may seem obvious but always run and hide in a locker when you come across an entity. This gives you the best chance of survival!
Hopefully these tips will help you survive inside the backrooms. Make sure to check out our other Inside the Backrooms articles!
