Overwatch 2 made some alterations to heroes, but Ashe essentially remains the same. However, this isn’t a bad thing considering Ashe is a strong ranged hero capable of keeping enemies at bay while dealing damage. She’s a great hero if you know how to properly use her abilities and what she excels at. This how to play Ashe guide in Overwatch 2 will surely tell you all you need to know about this wonderful hero!
Ashe is a long-rage Damage hero meaning she does best in mid to long range combat due to her riffle blast dealing a great amount of damage. Ashe isn’t the best at close range combat due to her high reload times, slow rate of fire and lack of mobility. For this reason, make sure to keep her just behind the frontlines but remember she’s still a damage hero meaning she’s responsible for seeking out, engaging, and defeating the enemy using her varied tool abilities and play styles.
Ashe’s Abilities
- The Viper – Type: Primary Attack. Left Click to equip a semi-automatic rifle. Hold right click to zoom in this will increase damage and accuracy but slows rate of fire.
- Coach Gun– Type: Ability. Blasts enemies in front of you while knocking yourself backwards.
- Dynamite – Type: Ability. Throw an explosive that detonates after a short delay or immediately when shot.
- B.O.B – Type: Ultimate. Deploys Bob who charges forward and knocks enemies into the air then attacks with his arm cannons.
How to effectively use Viper?
You should keep in mind that Ashe’s Viper only shoots 12 rounds and that reload times are slow so always line up your shots and practice your aim. There’s no reason not to ADS every time considering your shots deal more damage and your accuracy improves. Even though it slows your rate of fire this isn’t relevant cause you should always try to line up your shots anyways. Viper is a very strong weapon, but it will take you a headshot and a follow up shot to defeat an enemy. Ashe is better suited as a support damage role meaning its best to pair her up with another damage hero.
How to compensate for the lack of mobility?
As we mentioned before Ashe lacks mobility, but she does have one mobility ability: Coach Gun. Use this ability to swiftly get away while knocking enemies back. However, this ability has a 10 second cooldown so we would advise you to seek high ground. Find a spot on a balcony or in a tower and open fire on the enemies underneath. They will eventually figure out where the shots are coming from therefore you should relocate to different high grounds while reloading.
Keep an eye out for enemy snipers
Ashe may not be great at close range combats, but she excels at eliminating enemy snipers you can simply ADS and aim at their heads from afar. They will either repeak you and you can finish them off or back down. You can also use your Dynamite for pushing enemies out of tight areas.
How to get the most out of your ultimate?
Ashe’s B.O.B can be either a destructive or useless ultimate depending on how you use it. The turret mode is incredibly useful, but the magic is in his charge attack. If you’re being charged by a load of enemies use his charge attack and if it connects it can deal a great deal of damage while also launching enemies up in the air making them “flying” ducks. You can also use B.O.B like an extra player in the capture zone.
