In Pokémon Scarlet and Violet there are several new legendary Pokémon you can capture. One of these new legendary creatures is the distinctive looking Wo-Chien. Where can you find Wo-Chien?
You can find Wo-Chien on the far east side of Area One more specifically at the base of a cliff face. He will be behind a purple shrine called the Grasswither Shrine to unlock it you will need to pull all eight purple stakes from the ground which we will explain later on. If you attend all the history classes at the Academy and speak with Ms. Raifort when afterwards she will mark all the shrines’ locations on your overworld map. In case you haven’t done this you can see the location on the map below.

In the map below you can see all the eight Purple Stakes locations you need to unlock the shrine to find Wo-Chien. All you have to do is go to these locations and pull the stakes. Once you do it you will hear a mysterious cry coming from the shrine.
How can you catch Wo-Chien?
Every time you attempt to capture a Pokémon always remove autosave and manually save your game beforehand to insure in case you end up failing you can always relaunch the game.
Wo-Chien is a Dark/Grass type Pokémon and he will be level 60. If you want to catch it without risking knocking him out we would recommend avoiding using Fire type Pokémon against him. Still you should chose a Pokémon that’s resistant to Dark, Grass and Earth-type moves. Keep in mind Wo-Chien has a special ability called Tablets of Ruin which reduces your Pokémon team attack stats.
Don’t forget to bring plenty of Ultra Balls and throw some Timer Balls in there too!
