2. Unlock Shortcuts: Whenever you spot a pillar with a hollow cross on top, use the Key of Hubertus. These pillars always unlock shortcuts.
3. Solid Objects: If you can’t slip past the Dark Man without taking damage, find cover behind solid objects.

Encounter Strategy

1. Grab the Key of Hubertus: The Dark Man appears when you collect the Key of Hubertus. Don’t panic—instead, turn around and use the key on the Hollow Cross pedestal behind you. A ladder will descend.
2. Survive and Dodge: As you progress, the Dark Man teleports and hunts you. Dodge through his mist, hide behind furniture, or lure him away.
3. Outer Area Safety: Stay in the outer area of the dark mist to avoid instant death. Running through the mist is possible, but dodging past the Dark Man directly is fatal.
4. Hidden Room: On the first floor where the Dark Man spawns, find a room he can’t access. Walk past him to the back wall, where a crack behind vines allows you to slide through.

Reaching the Caged Room

1. Unlock Ladders: Use the Key of Hubertus on three different Hollow Cross pedestals. Each unlocks a ladder that drops in front of you.
2. Hollow Cross Locations:
   • First Floor: Activate the Hollow Cross pedestal where you found the key. Descend the ladder.
   • Run and Lure: Run down the hall, luring the Dark Man toward the bookshelf. Evade him through his mist.
   • Follow the Railing: Navigate the bend while staying ahead of the Dark Man.
   • Second Floor: Use the Key of Hubertus on another Hollow Cross. Ascend the ladder.
   • Wait and Enter: Wait for the Dark Man to exit the back room, then enter it yourself. Turn left and explore the side room.
