Raids are coming to Modern Warfare II December 14th. This new season one update is the first major content update after launch. This new game mode Raids is new to the Call of Duty world with Atomgrad being the new Raid Special Ops mission. In order to be able to access it you will need to earn a Raid Assignment, in one of three ways. This how to access the first raid in Modern Warfare 2 guide will explain all the three ways.
Raids are a new co-op game mode played in teams of three. In Atomgrad you will be tasked with infiltrating an underground bunker as Price, Farah, and Gaz. The Raids will continue the story of the campaign and they are like Spec Ops missions.
How to gain a Raid assignment
Like we said before there’s three ways to gain a Raid assignment so you can get access to the Atomgrad Raid.
- The first one is by completing a daily challenge either in Multiplayer or Special Ops.
- The second one is by placing within the top 20 in any Warzone 2.0 Battle Royale Playlist.
- The third one is in DMZ by using the final extract helicopter with at least 30k in cash.
You only need to do one of these tasks to unlock access so just choose one you’d like or do all three. Whatever works for you. Either way, after you complete one of these three objectives you will earn a Raid Assignment meaning you can take on the Raid for up to a week after earning it. It’s important to mention only the host in a multiplayer squad needs a Raid Assignment and can bring two squad mates with them even if they haven’t done any of the objectives.
Atomgrad Rewards
Upon completing the Atomgrad Raid, you will be rewarded with an Operator Skin “Convoy” for Kyle “Gaz” Garrick, the new season 1 Reloaded Operator. Which can be equipped in both Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Mode. On top of this you will also unlock a harder difficulty playlist.
There will be additional intel scattered through that unlocks other cosmetic items. These can be stickers, emblems, calling card, and things of the sort. It can also unlock new data that will shine a light on new elements of the Modern Warfare 2 story. We advise you to play raids several times if you wish to unlock everything.
Tips for a successful raid
In Raids just like Spec Ops players can choose from three different kits that support three different playstyles. There three kits are Assault, Medic, and Recon. All can be levelled up to level 5 by completing Spec Ops missions. So, we recommend you grind Spec Ops if you wish to be as prepared as possible. Bellow you can read a little bit about each kit.
- Assault: Increased armour with the Armor Box field upgrade. Later tiers include the assault suit, increased armour capacity as well as free stims.
- Medic: Faster revives with a revive pistol for instant long-range revives. Later tiers include the bomb drone, free claymores and well as free anti-tank mines.
- Recon: Intel with a snapshot pulse field to see nearby enemies. Later tiers include the ability to auto replenish primary and tactical gear, the ability to carry additional ger as well as a free heartbeat sensor and spotter scope.
We hope you are as excited as us for the first raid! Make sure to check out our other Modern Warfare 2 Articles!
