Exploring the dark and treacherous world of Diablo IV can be both thrilling and daunting, especially when it comes to navigating the game’s dangerous dungeons. One such challenge is clearing the Cultist Refuge, a foreboding location filled with powerful enemies and hidden secrets. In this article, we’ll guide you through the Cultist Refuge step by step, offering tips and strategies to help you emerge victorious and reap the riches that lie within.
Where Can You Find the Cultist Refuge
This dungeon is located beneath Stronghold Nostrava, which must be cleared before entering. To find Nostrava, head east and slightly south of Kyovashad, between the Desolate Highlands and The Pallid Glade. Once Stronghold Nostrava has been conquered, search the northern end of the church ruins along the eastern edge of the area to find a cellar door leading to the Cultist Refuge. Despite being located beneath a burning church, the dungeon is surprisingly intact. Your objectives upon entering include defeating all enemies in the Halls of Assembly, slaying The Overseer and collecting the Cultist Key, using the key to unlock the Sanctum Door, traveling to the Inner Sanctum, destroying the Construct, and defeating the High Priests.
How to Clear the Cultist Refuge
Here’s a step-by-step guide to clearing the dungeon:
- Enter the Cultist Refuge and eliminate all enemies in the Halls of Assembly.
- Defeat Rakshasi The Overseer, who will drop the Cultist Key needed to open the Sanctum Door.
- Use the Cultist Key to open the Sanctum Door and enter a room with spike traps and enemies that will spawn. Your objective is to defeat the Bone Pile, which is listed as “Destroy the Construct”. Keep an eye out for the spike traps while vanquishing the Bone Pile.
- Proceed to climb a ladder down to the Inner Sanctum.
- In the Inner Sanctum, your final task is to defeat two High Priests, Clouse and Chesna. They are essentially elite cultists and do not require any special tactics to defeat.
- Look out for Resplendent Chests while hunting down the High Priests, as they can provide you with valuable loot.
- Once both High Priests have been defeated, you will have completed the dungeon and earned Renown as well as access to the Flamewalker’s Aspect.
Despite the effort required to reach the Cultist Refuge, clearing it is a straightforward task that involves eliminating all enemies, defeating the Overseer, destroying the Bone Pile, defeating the High Priests, and grabbing any loot you come across.
