After the cutscene, you’ll control Ashley for the remainder of Chapter 9. Before reaching the Mausoleum Lantern Puzzle, you need to find the Bunch of Keys. To do this, use the lantern to reveal a hidden staircase in the south side of the library and retrieve the keys from the desk. Use the third key to unlock the elevator on the opposite side of the library, and go to the Typewriter room where you’ll solve the grandfather clock puzzle. Then, take the elevator down to the Mausoleum and follow the path to reach the Lantern Puzzle.
How to Complete The Mausoleum Lantern Puzzle

- Take note of the symbols on the wall opposite the pedestal – Star, Full Moon, and Half Moon.
- Pick up the lanterns and move them around to match the symbols on the wall. You can move the lanterns by interacting with them.
- Place the lantern with the Half-Moon symbol on the left side of the pedestal, the Star symbol on the right side, and the Full Moon symbol at the back.
- Make sure that the light emitted from each lantern aligns with the corresponding symbol on the wall.
- If done correctly, the gate will open, allowing you to obtain the Salazar Family Insignia.
- The Salazar Family Insignia is required to reach Leon and complete the chapter.
