How to Complete the Water Temple
How to Start The Water Temple:
- Complete Wellspring Island: Before accessing the Water Temple, ensure that you have completed Wellspring Island and reached the end of the great waterfall.
- Approach the Zonai Pedestal: Upon arriving at the Water Temple, locate the Zonai Pedestal. Interact with it to trigger a cutscene and receive the dungeon’s objective.
- Fast Travel Option: After activating the Zonai Pedestal, take note that you can now use fast travel directly to the Water Temple. Take advantage of this feature if you need to restock on items before proceeding.
How to Solve The First Faucet:
- Head to the Left Side: Within the main area of the Water Temple, move towards the very left side.
- Climb the Floating Rocks: Ascend the floating rocks present in the left area. The temple’s low gravity will assist your climbing.
- Defeat Constructs: Upon reaching the top of the floating rocks, engage and defeat the Constructs located there.
- Examine the Slanted Rock: Proceed to the north end of the island and inspect the slanted rock covered in sludge.
- Clean the Sludge: Use your abilities to clean off the sludge from the rock. This will reveal a water orb spawner.
- Ascend Using Water Orb: Utilize the water orb spawner to ascend to the next level. Before ascending, use Ultrahand to retrieve a large ball from the pool on the current platform. Place the ball inside a water orb to transport it to the next level.
- Position the Ball: On the next level, place the ball in the water above the slot.
- Obtain a Hover Stone: Locate one of the Hover Stones at the other end of the platform.
- Attach the Hover Stone: Bring the Hover Stone to the small wall opposite the waterfall. Attach it to the bronze-looking part on top of the wall using Ultrahand.
- Raise the Wall/Gate: Use Ultrahand to raise the wall, which is actually a gate. The Hover Stone will keep the wall raised for a limited time.
- Let the Water Drain: With the wall raised, the water will drain, allowing the ball to reach the slot.
- Enter the Opened Passage: A passage will open inside the pool. Enter it to proceed further.
- Activate the Water Wheel: Inside the passage, interact with the first water wheel using Sidon’s power. Shoot a wave of water at the wheel to activate the first faucet.
- Return to the Central Area: Glide back down to the central area of the Water Temple, ready to face the next challenges.
By following these step-by-step instructions, you can effectively start the Water Temple and successfully solve the first faucet, setting the stage for further progress in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
How to Solve the Second Faucet:
- Descend to the Lower Level: Head to the west side of the Water Temple and locate the ledge that allows you to descend to the lower level.
- Walk Through the Flames: Below, you’ll encounter a wall of flames blocking your path. Utilize Sidon’s power to walk through the fire unharmed.
- Reach the Other Side: In the room beyond the flames, use the Hover Stones to traverse to the other side where the ball is located.
- Deactivate the Hover Stone: Spot a chest hanging from a Hover Stone. Shoot at the chest to deactivate the Hover Stone and make the chest drop. Open the chest to obtain a Large Zonaite.
- Retrieve the Ball: To bring the ball back to the other side, attach it to a Hover Stone and use additional Hover Stones as stepping stones.
- Use Ultrahand to Maneuver: Stand on one stone and use Ultrahand to move another stone over the gap. Jump to the newly positioned stone and then bring the previous stone forward. Ensure that you are also moving the stone with the ball attached to it. Repeat this process to progress efficiently.
- Secure the Ball in the Hole: To keep the ball in place, activate a Hover Stone and turn it on its side. This will prevent the ball from rolling away and open a nearby gate, revealing the second water wheel.
- Activate the Second Water Wheel: Interact with the second water wheel to activate it, thereby getting the second faucet up and running.
- Return to the Main Platform: After completing the second faucet, make your way back to the main platform of the Water Temple.
By following these steps, you will successfully solve the second faucet within the Water Temple, unlocking further progress in your quest in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
How to Solve the Third Faucet:
- Reach the Next Island: Climb up the right side of the massive faucets at the head of the island. Use jumps to take advantage of the low gravity and glide over to the tallest island on the east side of the Water Temple.
- Solve the Island’s Puzzle: On the east island, you’ll encounter a puzzle involving a waterwheel and electricity generation to power the gate-opening mechanism.
- Locate the Waterwheel: Head towards the waterwheel near the waterfall on the island.
- Place Slabs on the Waterwheel: In the pool below the waterwheel, find two slabs. Position them on the spokes of the waterwheel to form a right angle.
- Start the Waterwheel Rotation: Use Ultrahand to initiate the rotation of the waterwheel. Once it gains enough momentum, it will continue to work on its own.
- Connect the Electrical Line: The rotation of the waterwheel will power the electricity line leading to the faucet’s waterwheel. However, there will be a break in the connection.
- Utilize the Water Orb Spawner: Locate a nearby water orb spawner. Use Ultrahand to retrieve the water orbs it produces and use them to connect the two ends of the electrical line.
- Activate the Water Wheel: Quickly proceed to the small building with Sidon’s ability and activate the water wheel inside before the water orb explodes.
How to Solve the Fourth Faucet:
- Drop to the Next Sky Island: From the previous sky island, descend to the island ahead that has a Fire Like enemy. Defeat the Fire Like to obtain a chest containing a Zonaite Shield.
- Ascend to the Floating Platform: Ascend through the floating platform where the Fire Like was attached. Glide over to the final sky island.
- Hit the Switch on the Spinning Box: On the final island, you’ll find a tall tower with a fast-spinning box on top. Within the box is a switch that needs to be hit to drain the water and access the final water wheel.
- Reach and Shoot the Switch: Climb up high using the island’s structures or Hover Stones. Leap off and aim your bow in midair to slow down time. Take this opportunity to shoot the switch and activate it.
- Activate the Fourth Water Wheel: After hitting the switch, proceed to activate the fourth and final water wheel.
- Return to the Center of the Temple: Once all four faucets have been activated, head back to the center of the Water Temple.
Once again, interact with the Zonai Pedestal to confront the formidable boss of the dungeon, known as the Mucktorok. Overcome this challenging encounter to claim victory. As a reward for your triumph, you will be granted a Heart Container, increasing your maximum health. Additionally, you will acquire the special ability to summon Sidon as a spirit companion for the remainder of your journey. It’s important to note that you will need to manually collect the Heart Container; it will not be automatically added to your inventory. Be sure to retrieve it to fully benefit from its power.
