The Carian Sovereignty Ash of War is a powerful new Ash of War introduced in the Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Widely regarded as one of the strongest, if not the best, Ash of War available in the game, it offers players a significant advantage in their battles.
Locating this coveted Ash of War requires a bit of exploration and keen observation. Hidden away in a cave southwest of the Cathedral of Manus Metyr, obtaining Carian Sovereignty involves following a specific path and employing a bit of ingenuity. In this guide, I’ll walk you through each step to ensure you can add this formidable tool to your arsenal. We’ll navigate through the cave, spot the elusive beetle clinging to the ceiling, and use a throwable to bring it down, thus earning the Carian Sovereignty upon its defeat. Let’s embark on this journey to enhance your Elden Ring experience with one of its most potent assets.
How to Find Carian Sovereignty Ash of War
- Starting Point:
- Begin your journey at the Cathedral of Manus Metyr.
- Reach the Cathedral by traveling through the underground tunnel in the Moorth Ruins and crossing the two hanging bridges in Bonny Village.
- Exit the Cathedral:
- Leave the Cathedral of Manus Metyr and head a short distance north.
- Turn northwest and descend the rocky slopes.
- Ride South:
- Continue riding south, passing a pack of wolves along the way.
- Head to the edge of the cliff.
- Locate the Cave:
- Look southwest to spot a small cave at the cliff’s edge.
- Enter the Cave:
- Enter the cave, which is not very deep and primarily serves to hide the Ash of War.
- Look up towards the cave’s ceiling to find a flying Teardrop Scarab.
- Acquire Carian Sovereignty:
- Use a ranged weapon or skill to strike down the Teardrop Scarab.
- Defeat the Scarab to obtain the Ash of War: Carian Sovereignty.
Once obtained, Carian Sovereignty can be infused into various weapon types including daggers, straight swords, greatswords, curved swords, curved greatswords, katanas, twinblades, thrusting swords, and heavy thrusting swords. Infusing with a magic affinity will reduce the weapon’s strength and dexterity scaling, but increase its damage scaling with intelligence.
Using the Carian Sovereignty skill, the Tarnished pulls the sword overhead to form a large Carian greatsword, followed by a powerful slam to the ground. An additional weapon skill input allows the Tarnished to swing the greatsword in a circular arc. This skill consumes 30 FP for casting and an additional 12 FP for the subsequent swing.
To further enhance the damage of Carian Sovereignty, you can stack it with talismans such as Shard of Alexander, Magic Scorpion Charm, Godfrey Icon, and Graven-Mass Talisman. By mastering this powerful Ash of War, you’ll be well-equipped to face the challenges that await in the Lands Between.
