Sons of The Forest presents a challenge for players as some essential items are only accessible once they have obtained specific tools. To obtain the Fireman’s axe, players must first acquire three different items – the Rebreather, the Rope Gun, and the Shovel – which can be found in separate cave systems around the island. To obtain the Fireman’s axe, players should prioritize obtaining the Rebreather or the Rope Gun first, as they will need these items to acquire the Shovel. Once they have the Shovel, they can venture out to find the Fireman’s axe.
How to Find The Firefighter Axe
Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to find and obtain the Fireman’s axe in Sons of The Forest:
- Use the GPS to locate Maintenance A, where the Fireman’s axe can be found. It is one of the dig sites marked with a pulsating green circle on the island’s northwest side, south of the north beach.
- Once players arrive at the dig site, they will see equipment and two broken-down golf carts. Look for a shovel symbol in the middle right in front of the golf cart, which will mark where the hatch door is buried.
- Equip the shovel and right-click to start digging. Be cautious as there are two cannibal camps nearby, and the digging animation prevents players from looking around.
- Once the hatch door is cleared of dirt, players can open it and go down the ladder. This leads to a small hallway with a door on the right and a storage room at the end.
- Go past the room to the storage area, where a couple of baby mutants will appear. Eliminate them and then search the room. The Fireman’s axe is on the back wall inside a glass case.
- The other room has a save point if players want to ensure they don’t lose their progress. There are also quite a few resources and the Maintenance Key Card.
- To equip the Fireman’s axe, click “I” to pull up the inventory. Note that it is the heaviest hitter but also swings the slowest and takes up the most stamina. It is ideal for one-shotting certain cannibals or cutting down trees much faster than the Tactical axe.
