God of War’s sequel just came out and everyone wants to know how to get Light Runic attacks in God of War: Ragnarok! The sequel continues the saga of Kratos and his son, Atreus, as they fight attacks from the gods, raiders, and mythical creatures in which they will need to use Light Runic attacks.
Light Runic Attacks are unique moves that can be attached to each of Kratos’ primary Weapons. These abilities work by slowly gathering energy that can be released into a power attack. These runic attacks are not unlocked but are instead found all over the different realms. This guide will tell you exactly where you can find them!
So where can you find the Light Runic Attacks?
There are three types of weapons available in the game. The Leviathan Axe, Blades of Chao, and the Draupnir Spear. Each type of weapon has its own set of runic attacks.
Leviathan Axe:
- Winter’s Bite: It’s dropped when you defeat the Huntress in Midgard.
- Skadi’s Edge: You can find it in a legendary chest in Strond, Alfheim.
- Hel’s Touch: You can find it in a legendary chest during a side mission in the Burrows, Alfheim.
- Njord’s Tempest: Found in a legendary chest while the players are doing a side quest in Althjof’s Rig, Svartalfheim.
- Wrath of the Frost Ancient: You can find it in a legendary chest while completing a main story mission in the Southern Wilds, Vanaheim.
Blade of Chaos:
- Cyclone of Chaos: You can find it in a legendary chest that is located in the Raider Stronghold, Midgard.
- Rampage of the Furies: You will come across it during a side quest in Vanaheim in a legendary chest.
- Helios Flare: You can find it in a legendary chest during a main story mission, in the Abandoned Village in Vanaheim.
- Hades Retribution: It’s found in a legendary chest in the Temple of Light, in the Strond, Alfheim during a main story mission.
- Flames of Anguish: It’s dropped by the first Dreki upon defeat in Myrkr Tunnels, Svartalfheim.
Draupnir Spear:
- Huldra Charge: It’s dropped by the two ogres after their boss fight in the Forge.
- Whisper of the World: It’s found in a legendary chest in the Jungle of Vanaheim.
- Mountain Splitter: After completing the main mission Forging Destiny you unlock a side quest, Spirit of Rebellion, upon completion you can obtain the runic attack.
- Thrust of a Thousand Soldiers: You can find it in a legendary chest while exploring the Shipyard of the Fallen in Helheim.
How can you use the Light Runic Attacks?
You can release a Light Runic Attack by pressing the L1 button and then the R1 button. Keep in mind that these attacks take some time to recharge, you can always speed up the cool down time by increasing the Cooldown (CLD) stat. You can buff these attacks by raising the Runic (RNC) stat and with experience points.
