Even though Moira’s abilities may seem simple, mastering her can be challenging so make sure to read the tips below for a better understanding of how to play this hero.
What exactly is your role as Moira?
Some people might find playing support a bit boring but then again due to Moira’s high damage abilities she can be a good choice for these types of people. Although you should always keep in mind that healing is your best asset. Don’t get greedy and ignore your team in favor of diving the enemy back line, even if you can get a kill out of it. You will eventually need to deal damage to recharge your healing so be patient.
What and when to use your abilities?
Some heroes can dodge abilities this is called projectile mitigation. Moira’s Biotic Orb is considered a projectile meaning you should avoid using this ability against heroes who can dodge it like D.VA, Sigma, and Genji.
Support heroes have little HP you should use the Fade ability as an escape mechanism to get away from danger and be especially wary of Reinhardt’s Earthshatter and Roadhog’s Hook.
Choosing the right orb to use in certain situations is incredibly important. Imagine a situation where your team is low HP so your first instinct would be to heal them, but you also know the enemy team’s HP is low too. Well, is this situation it might be more valuable to use the damage orb to eliminate the opposite team instead of using the healing orb.
Best way to use your ultimate
You don’t need to be too picky when using this ultimate since there’s only a few things that can make it less efficient. The only thing that can blocks it is a shield so don’t use it when the enemy team has one. The other thing you need to look out for is a stun ability, like Roadhog’s hook, it can cancel your ultimate completely. Like her other abilities, you’ll need to balance both effects. Whether this means finishing off low-health enemies or restoring your team’s health depends on the situation similar to choosing the right orb like we mentioned above.
