Hogwarts Legacy is an immersive, open-world action RPG set in the world first introduced in the Harry Potter books. For the first time, experience Hogwarts in the 1800s. Your character is a student who holds the key to an ancient secret that threatens to tear the wizarding world apart. Now you can take control of the action and be at the center of your own adventure in the wizarding world. Your legacy is what you make of it. The animal door puzzles can be found all around Hogwarts and you will need to solve these puzzles to open certain doors in the game. This can be quite confusing in the beginning… However, once you learn how to solve one puzzle you will know how to solve all of them.. This guide will tell you how to solve the Animal Door Puzzles in Hogwarts Legacy.
Where to Find the Clue
The reason why it can be quite confusing in the beginning is because you’re missing a key clue to solve the puzzles. To find this clue fast travel to the Divination Classroom Floo Flame in the Library Annex portion of Hogwarts then take a left into a room with the wooden rafters, follow the path and take the first right. You will then come across a door with the animal puzzle. Opposite side to the door there’s a chest, open this chest and you will receive the clue: ‘A page torn from an Arithmancy study guide that contains a list of numbers assigned to various magical beasts.’
This clue has several animals that correspond to a specific number. Below you can see an image of the clue.
How to Solve the Animal Puzzles
Now that you have the clue you can easily calculate the solution for every door. So basically, the door will have 2 triangle diagrams which you will need to solve separately. To solve the diagrams it’s fairly simple, the numbers around the triangle need to add up to the number in the center.
To make this easier to explain we will use the image below as an example. In the top diagram we have a 9 in the center. So 2+hydra+? will need to equal 9. Now you check the clue to see what number the hydra corresponds to and it’s the number 3. So, 2+3+? = 9. Therefore, the question mark will equal 4, this is basic math. Check the clue again and see what animal equals 4 and you will see it’s the owl. Change the animal to the left of the door until you find the owl. Now do the same thing for the bottom diagram and change the animal to the right of the door. The door will now unlock.
