One of the most anticipated games of the year is here! Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II brings fans state-of-the-art gameplay, with all-new gun handling, advanced AI system, a new Gunsmith and graphical innovations that elevate the franchise to new heights. The game also brought some attractive cosmetic items, like character models and weapon skins. With the release of Activision’s awaited Call of Duty Modern Warfare sequel everyone wants to know how to unlock the gold camo skin! This guide will tell all you eager players out there how to show off the gold camo skins in Modern Warfare II the fastest way possible.
There are two types of camos in Modern Warfare II the Universal Camos and the Completionist camos. Once acquired Universal Camos can be used for any weapon, on the other hand Completionist camos are only available for the specific weapon you unlocked them with. As good as it sounds to be able to unlock gold camo skins for all weapons unfortunately that’s not the case due to it being a Completionist camo. The good news is that the way to unlock said camo has been altered slightly in Modern Warfare II making it just a little bit easier than it’s prequel!
So How do you Unlock the Gold Camo Skins?
To unlock any camo you need to ‘grind’ a weapon until it reaches a certain level and specifically for the gold camo skins you must complete a set of challenges for each weapon, you can see what these challenges are by following these steps:
- Step 1: Head to the ‘Weapons’ tab on the multiplayer screen and enter the loadout section
- Step 2: Select the loadout containing the weapon you want to unlock the gold camo for
- Step 3: Tab up on the weapon and enter the Gunsmith
- Step 4: Go to the ‘Customize’ tab
- Step 5: On the left you should see a section called Weapon Mastery, each square displays a different camo that unlocks when you complete the associated challenge. By completing these challenges, you get the four camos and the gold camo for that specific weapon.
The challenges start off easy, but they get harder as you level up. Here are the Universal camo challenges so you can see for yourself:
Challenges for AR’s:
- Get 50 kills
- Get 50 ADS kills
- Get 10 double kills
- Get 15 kills from behind
Challenges for SMG’s
- Get 50 kills
- Get 50 ADS kills
Challenges for Marksman Riffles:
- Get 50 kills
- Get 30 kills while crouched
Gold Mastery Camo Challenge:
- Kill 3 enemies without dying 10 times
Tips to Achieve Challenges Faster
It’s been reported by several players that playing modes like Hardpoint, Headquarters or Domination will help you achieve Challenges faster since it’s easier to ambush enemies who are too focused on running the Objectives.
We suggest levelling up your weapons close to the max level so when you start completing challenges you can unlock the gold camo for multiple guns at the same time since some of them will have equivalent challenges. Make sure it should only take you a match or two to reach max level.
