The Encrypted Cipher Quests in Fortnite consist of multiple stages, each with its own code that needs to be deciphered in order to progress to the next stage. Although these codes may seem complex, they can be decoded using a simple numeric substitution cipher system. For example, Epic Games’ teaser can be deciphered by substituting numerals with their corresponding alphabet letters (A = 1, B = 2, C = 3, etc.), which translates to ‘Crack The Code’ (3 18 1 3 11 20 8 5 3 15 4 5). Another crucial code for solving the Encrypted Cipher Quests is a date, namely 03.10.2023, which requires subtracting the numerals from each stage quest code. To make deciphering easier, we’ve provided a substitution table below for you to easily correspond the numerals with their corresponding alphabet letters.
How to solve 1.17.23.9.14. 19.19.24.1.21.6

In the first stage of the Encrypted Cipher Quests, you will be presented with a code consisting of numerals, namely 1.17.23.9.14. 19.19.24.1.21.6. By subtracting the end date of the quest from this code, you can decipher the location for the first stage. It should be noted that the date needs to be repeated in sequence since it consists of eight numbers. This simple subtraction process will enable you to solve the code and proceed with the quest.

The solution for the first code is Anvil Square.
The initial stage of the Encrypted Cipher Quest features a message instructing you to inspect the wall beneath the eastern building at a certain location. After decrypting the cipher, you will discover that the location in question is Anvil Square. At this location, proceed to the floor below in the small hut situated to the left of the Reboot van. There, you will see a mechanical table that can be interacted with to complete the first stage of the quest. Keep in mind that completing this stage will unlock the second stage of the Encrypted Cipher Quest.

Faulty Splits – Spray at Splits Bowl
One of the locations in the Faulty Splits POI is the Splits Bowl, where you can locate the Joni the Red NPC. To complete the second stage of the Encrypted Cipher Quests, visit the Splits Bowl building and apply the Distant Roar spray on the designated wall’s right-hand side as illustrated in the image. This location allows only the Distant Roar spray to be used for completion.
Lonely Labs – Entrance to the computer room
Upon arriving at the Lonely Lab, proceed to the Capture Point area situated on the southeastern side of the POI. There, you’ll come across three red metal crates, with the first one on the right-hand side leading to a tunnel that leads to the computer lab. Descend the stairs and stand in front of the four computers before interacting with them to finish the third stage of the Encrypted Cipher Quests.
Shattered Slabs – Where to dig
In order to progress to the fourth stage of the Encrypted Cipher Quests, you must make your way to the Shattered Slabs POI. At the north-western side of this location, there will be a glowing area on the ground where you must dig. To pinpoint the exact location, refer to the red circle on the image provided. Once you arrive at the spot, use your harvesting tool to dig the ground. This action will cause an arcade gaming machine to emerge, signaling the completion of the fourth stage of the Encrypted Cipher Quests in Fortnite.
